“How many people have you killed with a radio?"
Conan Higgins, retired JTAC with U.S. Air Force Special Operations, doesn't have an answer. He explains why: you don't always see who's on the receiving end of the bomb.
He recalls one mission in Afghanistan, working with the OGA to draw enemy fighters out of a compound alive. Asked to "do a little show," he got A-10s circling, marked a hill with rockets, and dropped a 500 pounder. They later found out it was a cemetery.
