Only 7 out of 100 guys got selected for Recon. Mike Sarraille was one of them.
After making it through the Basic Reconnaissance Course and checking into 1st Recon Battalion, he got pulled aside with a choice: sit in the Gulf for six months, or take a shot at the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP), a path that sends you back to school on active duty.
The guys who pushed him toward it told him straight: "Go do it. You'll come back. You'll be in command. You can influence more change." That one decision changed the entire trajectory of his career.
